MUU Dugave 2011

New Street Art Museum project MUU Dugave will be held between 1st and 15th of September 2011. MUU Dugave is the second project after Branimirova street that was held last year. This year our aim is to bring art into neglected parts of the city where there is no cultural content. Since culture bears great importance in society growth this is one of our priorities. By changing the city we are changing people as well.

Centralization of cultural content is a big problem for Croatian cultural policy. Most of the content that Zagreb has to offer is based in a tight circle in down town and in upper town. In the neighborhoods across the river Sava there is hardly any cultural offer, which results in alienation, apathy and general neglecting of the city surroundings. One of the solutions to this problem could be centrally planed usage of urban art in public spaces in purpose of increasing quality of ever day life. Art In public spaces as an open dialog and easily accessible source of creativity is a perfect platform for developing “creative class” which is a key element for Croatian development in general. That’s why this project is much more than having nice art around the city. This project is here to change what we see today in order to change how we are going to live tomorrow.

It's the day we all been waiting and working for. The day we'll pronounce the MUUSEUM opened.
